Our Promise To You

Our aim is to ensure that owners can entrust their pets to us in the knowledge that they will be loved and cared for safely whenever their owners cannot be there themselves. All dogs boarded with us will get their own holiday full of love, exercise and fun.

We are a small business who takes the time to understand the needs of clients and pets. By offering a bespoke and flexible customer service we will ensure a safe and happy environment for all pets entrusted to us.

About Mucky Paws

I am Jill and until my early retirement in 2011 I was a teacher in a Leicester secondary school, where I had worked for 35 years. Along with my husband, Ron, who is about to retire, I am also a keen runner. Although we have owned cats for most of our adult lives we would have loved to have had a dog to accompany us on our cross country runs. However, this was not a option whilst we were working long hours away from home.

The Mucky Paws Team

Lily the dogIn 2013 we bought a blue roan sprocker spaniel puppy who we called Lily. Little did we realise how much this little dog (albeit with a big personality), would change our lives. Our entire days now revolve around Lily as she needs and deserves a lot of exercise and stimulation and we love every minute of it. We are much fitter and even our runs on a cold, wet morning are a real pleasure, not to mention the new friends we have made amongst other doggie owners.

Whilst we take Lily with us on our summer holidays we weren’t prepared to give up our skiing holidays. We found her a lovely boarding kennel but were devastated when she wouldn’t make eye contact with us when we left, and actually turned her back on us. We felt that we had betrayed her.

Luckily, she now has her own holidays with a friend, and she can’t wait to go there. The whole experience gave us the idea of starting a home boarding business. We want to give other dogs the same positive experience that Lily receives when we are away. This idea soon escalated into dog-walking as we love being outdoors, and cat holiday care as we have had cats all our adult lives.
